The government of Madhya Pradesh has declared a full-day holiday in all schools on January 22, 2024 on account of consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh Government had announced a half-day holiday, wherein Government offices would remain closed by 2:30PM on January 22. This created confusion regarding school-college holidays. But late at night CM Mohan Yadav’s government announced that on January 22, there will be a holiday in all types of private and government schools in Madhya Pradesh.

In the order issued by the General Administration Department, half-day holiday was declared till 2.30 PM. But this order created confusion for the Department of School Education and Higher Education. The departmental officials were confused as whether the classes for the students should be held till 2.30 PM or after 2.30 PM.

The Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya will be telecasted live across the country. The Central Government has made special arrangements where all the central offices will be open only for half the day and there will be a holiday for the other half. Hence the Madhya Pradesh Government also declared a half-day holiday on 22 January. But there was no clarification from the state’s government side about the status of holiday in schools and colleges.

Late at night, the MP Government issued a statement where school and colleges will remain closed on January 22. While the remaining Government offices will be closed till 2:30PM and will be operational for the other half of the day.
