Australian women’s team captain, Alyssa Healy, has dismissed any potential tension with her Indian counterpart, Harmanpreet Kaur, after Australia secured a 2-1 victory in the T20I series at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Earlier, India had won the sole Test at Wankhede but faced a 3-0 defeat in the ODIs. Alyssa stated, “I would simply say that competitive cricket is about going out there, doing our job for the team.”

In the Test match, Harmanpreet expressed her frustration by throwing the ball at Alyssa while she was batting. However, Alyssa responded with a smile. When the ball hit Alyssa’s bat, it went to the boundary, and Harman’s appeal for obstructing the field was turned down. Alyssa mentioned, “We both have different approaches to our captaincy roles, and it’s up to her to handle that. But, from my perspective, there’s no hard feelings there.”

Alyssa says it’s okay if people get fired up during games, she even talks some trash herself back there by the stumps, so she can take it too. She’s sure Harmanpreet and the Indian team will learn from this tough series and come back even stronger. This whole India tour was great practice for Australia, she says, because they’re getting ready for two big tournaments coming up: the T20 World Cup this year and the 50-over World Cup next year, both in India!
