MP Forest Vacancy: Inspired by Agniveer, MP Plans to Hire over 500 Vanveers Annually

MPPSC Forest Recruitment

MP Forest Vacancy: For the protection of forests and wildlife, the Madhya Pradesh government will recruit Van Veer in Madhya Pradesh on the lines of Agniveer of the Army. Recruitment rules have been made for this. In these, a provision has been made to appoint Tiger Mitra, Cheetah Mitra and Elephant Mitra to take special care of the safety of wild animals.

Under this, rural, forest dweller and tribal youth living in and around the forest will be recruited for five years. Every year their service will be increased after seeing their performance. They will also be given honorarium for five years. After five years, 30 percent of the total forest warriors recruited who perform well will be given regular appointment to the post of forest guard.

At the same time , ‘Cheetah Mitras’ have also been created on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring awareness about cheetahs and eliminate the fear of them among the villagers. They will make the local people aware about the behavior of cheetahs and make them aware about the protection and conservation of cheetahs. Current Cheetah Mitras will also be given priority in Van Veer recruitment.

The arrangement for Van Veer recruitment is being made because the youth of the local community know the forest well and can protect the forest and wild animals well. Many times urban youth, who are not used to living in forests, also come into direct recruitment for the posts of forest guards. Local youth prove to be helpful in the conservation of forests and wildlife and this will also provide them new employment opportunities.

More Than 500 Recruitments Will Be Done Every Year

The Forest Department is preparing that every year more than five hundred recruitments will be made in Madhya Pradesh under the Van Veer Scheme. They will also be given a monthly honorarium of Rs 15 to 20 thousand. The state government can start this process before the Lok Sabha elections. Physical criteria and practicality will be given priority for Van Veer recruitment. Also, preference can be given to 10th or 12th pass in minimum educational qualification.
