The Forest Fair held every year in Bhopal will not be organized at the international level this time. Forest fair will be organized at state level. Since there is no international event, traders from abroad will not come to the fair. This will provide more opportunities to local traders. The state government intends to give more importance to the sale of forest wealth of Madhya Pradesh.
Due to this, only forest resource businessmen from Madhya Pradesh will be invited to the Forest Fair. State Level Forest Fair – 2024 will be organized by the State Minor Forest Produce Association, a five-day event from January 24 to January 28 in the Haat Bazaar of Bhopal.
For this, Manoj Aggarwal, Additional Managing Director of the State Minor Forest Produce Association, has issued information to the DFOs of all the forest divisions. DFO is also the MD of the district union.
In the last decade, there has been a significant increase in the use of medicinal plants and minor forest produce based Ayurveda system and natural forest produce. Minor forest produce and medicinal plants present in the forests of Madhya Pradesh are also a sustainable basis of rural livelihood.
As per information this year also it has been decided to ensure maximum participation of collectors of minor forest produce, herbal medicinal products, farmers, traders and representatives of herbal industries. People from the state level and the country will participate in the event.
A separate budget has also been allocated for this. Last time too, International Forest Fair was organized on a large scale. Various countries of Asia were invited to the International Forest Fair. In these, forest produce medicine traders from Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Burma and other countries took part. But this time there will be only state level forest fair.
