The entire country is buzzing with excitement for the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in Ayodhya on January 22, known as the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. This celebration is not limited to Ayodhya; it has sparked events all across India, boosting businesses as well. Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, has experienced a significant economic boom, especially in the sound and light, catering, worship material, and flags businesses.

Boost in Catering Business

In Indore, business has surged by 30 to 35 percent compared to regular days, and it’s even rivaling the festive season of Diwali. The city is set to host 125 major events, including Bhandara and private religious banquets, dedicated to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha program. This surge in events has led to a considerable upswing in the catering industry. Pinky Jain, the treasurer of the Indore Catering Association, anticipates a business worth Rs 25 crore due to events related to Ramlala Pran Pratishtha.

According to Ganesh Kumawat of Pooja Catering, most places are organizing special events on January 22 in connection with Lord Ram. Laddu Maharaj’s manager, Mohini Dubey, notes that this is the first time a significant number of food events related to religious programs are happening alongside weddings.

Events Shifted to January 22, Sales of Worship Materials, Light & Sound Increased

In preparation for the auspicious occasion, many people have shifted events like housewarmings to January 22. Additionally, various religious rituals associated with consecration ceremonies have increased the demand for worship materials. Nitin Sahajwani, a trader in the Marothia market, reveals that the demand for puja materials has surpassed that of Diwali, with scented lamps being particularly popular.

The sound and light business is experiencing a Diwali-like surge, with Nitin Soni stating that over two thousand small and more than a hundred major religious and bhajan evening events are planned in Indore. Events include watching the live program of Ram Lala Pran Pratishtha. Consequently, there’s a significant rise in demand for sound and LED screens. Moreover, the city’s major buildings and colonies are getting adorned with decorative lights, leading to a heightened demand for such lighting.

The festive spirit has truly engulfed Indore, with businesses thriving and people coming together to celebrate this momentous occasion.
