Tamil actor Daniel Balaji, aged 48, succumbed to a heart attack on Friday night, leaving the entire Tamil film industry and his fans in disbelief.

Reports suggest that Daniel Balaji complained of chest pain on the fateful day and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Chennai’s Kottivakam. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he couldn’t be saved.

Following his demise, Daniel Balaji’s body was taken to his residence in Purasaiwalkam for the final rites.

Daniel Balaji commenced his career as a unit production manager in Kamal Haasan’s ambitious project, ‘Marudhunayagam’. He also made a mark in television with a notable role in Radikaa Sarathkumar’s ‘Chithhi’, where his character’s name, Daniel, became his screen identity. The actor was particularly known for portraying antagonistic roles.
